The Holocaust Memorial Center of Budapest is dedicated to the memory of those who died under the Nazi regime. The highlights of the complex refer to the so-called Tower of the Lost Communities, to the permanent exhibition suggestively called From Deprivation of Rights to Genocide and to the Memorial Wall of Victims. The latter is a large glass panel inscribed with the names of all Jewish community members in Budapest killed during the regime.
The complex is also home to a synagogue which was turned into a concentration camp under the Nazi rule. At present, the synagogue (parts of it) has been restored to its proper use, being able to accommodate some 80 believers for the religious services held here.
