The Geological Museum of Hungary is part of the Geological Institute of Hungary and it is located in the building where the said institute is also headquartered. Both the museum and the institute are the largest institutions in Hungary specialized in the study of geology.

Besides the inner scientific value of the museum, the venue is also worth visiting due to the building it is located in, a historical structure erected in 1899.
