Pesterzsebet is the name of district XX of Budapest, and the namesake museum was the first museum founded at the outskirts of the city.
The Pesterzsebet Museum does not necessarily have a homogenous profile, meaning its permanent, or even the temporary exhibits, are rather miscellaneous than unitary as to the theme they cover. Thus, the former refer to the Lili Nemenyi-Arpad Horvath memorial room, to the collection of historical vestiges discovered in this district, and to a collection of works of art which render the district as seen by sundry artists.
