At present, the public baths of Budapest are managed by the so-called Metropolitan Bath Directorate (Fovarosi Furdoigazgatosag), a historical institution founded in the early 20th century. The organization is in charge with promoting 15 public baths, 10 of which are all-season establishments, whereas 5 open seasonally. Special events are occasionally organized, in part to tourist purposes, such as parties and social events.
