House of Terror is a museum in Budapest that contains exhibits from the fascist and communist dictatorial regimes instituted in Hungary after the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Opened in 2002 the museum has proven to be a very popular tourist attraction among the tourists that visited Budapest. The permanent exhibition includes a memorial to the victims of the regimes, propaganda banners, torture tools and pictures of the torturers, many of whom are still alive.
